Wedding Trends I Don't Get
1. Artichokes
I guess it is super popular that people use artichokes in their weddings. And they don't just use them in one place, they use them everywhere. Like in this bouquet:
but also in invitations like these:
I don't know what the obsession with the artichoke is but I don't get it and am not obsessed. Heck, I don't even eat artichokes.
2. Plain White Wedding Cakes
In a world of Ace of Cakes and Cake Boss and Food Network Challenge cakes, why would someone want a plain, white on white, circle tiered cake?
3. Crazy Expensive Budgets
I read somewhere that the average wedding costs between 50 and 100 grand! That is insane. After 7 years of school and student loans the last thing I want to spend my hard earned dollar on is one day of my life, a wedding. Instead why not spend the money on a mortgage down payment, paying off student debt, an awesome vacation, etc?
4. Boxed Wedding Invites
This may be really a continuation of my gripe about money but why would you want to send out boxed invites. I don't know if I am just too practical to think about boxing and mailing a ton of invites ($$$) or if I just can't get past the thought that they are going to get tossed in the trash. Really, I know, you aren't likely going to keep my invite and I am ok with that. But if I send you a boxed invite I would venture to say chances are even less that you will keep it. Am I the only one that thinks this is ridiculous?

Welcome Friends and Family!
Hello all!
I decided to start this blog so that I can keep everyone up to date on the wedding plans from near and far. Bobby and I can't wait to get into the planning and can't wait to share this all with you. I will work on getting posts up soon with all the wedding ideas. The whole point of this is to share the process and the decision making with all of you so leave suggestions and comments candidly!
